The Union Combined Parish is committed to respecting your privacy and personal information. This Privacy Policy details how we treat information that may be collected on this website, and explains our photo and video policies. If you have any questions, please email office@unionboston.org.
Your personal information
Collecting. We only collect personal information that you voluntarily provide. Your information is collected through Google Forms, Planning Center (for online giving and Connection Groups), and Mailchimp (for newsletters). We encourage you to review Planning Center’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and Mailchimp’s Legal Policies. If you interact with us on social media (@unionboston), we encourage you to review each platform’s terms of service and privacy policies.
Information collected. We collect personal information which identifies you including your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information, and other information. We may also collect information as you navigate this website including usage details and information collected through “cookies.” Though we do our best to protect your information, you provide your information at your own risk, and we cannot control the actions of third parties with whom you share your information. When you submit your information, you consent to the collection and disclosure of such information as detailed in this Privacy Policy.
Usage. We use your personal information for internal church purposes, including online giving, newsletters, and membership follow ups. Your information is only viewed by our pastoral and administrative staff, and is never disclosed otherwise without your permission. We do not sell your information. Some anonymized demographic information may be shared with entities within The United Methodist Church.
Third party links. This website and the services we use may contain links to or from third party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review each website’s terms of service and privacy policies.
Users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 13. If we learn that we have collected or received information from users under 13 without a parent or guardian’s permission, we will delete that information. If you have concerns about information from users under 13, please email office@unionboston.org.
Photos and videos
Photos and videos help bring to life and tell the story of the Union Combined Parish. By attending Union events, including Worship, you consent to being photographed or recorded, and Union reserves the right to photograph or record its events. You can opt-out at any time.
Photos. Photos are used in our marketing materials, including but not limited to our website, social media, our newsletter, and printed materials (like the Union Update). Although Union reserves the rights to these photos, we will do our best to seek your expressed permission to use photos you clearly and recognizably appear in. Identifying information, such as your name, is never shared in marketing materials without your permission.
Videos. Most Union events, including Worship, are recorded and may be posted on our YouTube channel. Identifying information, such as your name, is never shared in marketing materials without your permission.
Children. Photos or videos of children under 18 are never used in marketing materials without a parent or guardian’s permission. Children under 18 may unintentionally appear in an event recording. If you have concerns about photos or videos of children under 18, please email office@unionboston.org.
Opt-out. You may opt-out of being photographed or recorded by using this form. Additionally, in the Sanctuary, certain pews are marked as Privacy Zones where no photos or recordings will be taken.
