Following the 2024 Church Conference, the Union Pastoral Team shared the following update.
Wow! What an incredible 2024 Church Conference.
On Sunday, November 17, the people of the Union Combined Parish celebrated 2024—the Year of Possibility—and made preparations for 2025—the Year of Belonging. Under the banner, “Deeply Rooted” we are well-positioned to:
Deepen our connection to one another
Expand our Home + Table initiative
Amplify our Justice + Advocacy work
Refresh our Strategic Missional Plan
With 100 persons participating in the hybrid gathering, we unanimously approved the following:
Celebrated the formation and official launch of the Union Combined Parish. For more see unionboston.org/parish
Expanded our innovative Union Church Council governance model
Elected 10 new members to our lay leadership (officers) for 2025 (Nominations)
Adopted a $1.7 million operating budget for 2025 (Finance)
Approved 2025 compensation for our 4 appointed Pastors (three full-time, one part-time) and Staff Team (Staff-Parish Relations Committee)
Affirmed a plan to maintain and preserve our 7 physical site locations (4 sanctuaries, 3 residences), which have a combined real estate value of $40 million (Trustees)
Again, wow! This worshipful work is a blessing indeed. All approved reports and information will remain available at unionboston.org/conference.
Indeed, “God is doing something wonderful at Union." We give thanks for your generosity, faithfulness, and contributions in fulfilling Union’s mission “to nurture followers of Jesus Christ who transform the world through love, justice, and service."
