Monday Night Dinner

Every Monday Night at 5:00pm
at Old West Church

About

We serve between 50-100 dinners every Monday night 52 weeks a year regardless of weather or holiday. We are always open. We have a very close knit community of unhoused, elderly, working poor, students etc. who we welcome to have a home cooked family style meal.

We serve in the sanctuary at Old West Church (131 Cambridge St). The church is able to validate parking at the Cambridge St. garage that is a very short walk from the church. We are fully volunteer and everyone chips in anywhere they can!

This is a program of The Oasis Coalition of Boston, in partnership with Old West Church at Union Combined Parish.

Every Monday night we try our best to serve snacks, sandwiches to take out, before dinner. In the summer, we serve ice pops. In the cold months, we open with hot soup. We serve coffee/tea etc before dinner. Then we open the room for anyone to share anything they'd like with the group. When everyone is seated with silverware we serve the guests. We try every week to have a toiletry table, a non-perishable food table (when we can) and hand out emergency clothing/supplies.

On the 4th Monday of the month we have a volunteer group from a Sober house who bring in birthday cake to celebrate the month's birthdays!

Volunteer

If you are interested in volunteering, email office@unionboston.org to get connected with Jen, the Director of Monday Night Dinner.

We need volunteers to help prepare, serve, and clean. We also welcome volunteers who want to play music or lead a book group.
